Serving the Northeast Region of Ontario, the Psychologist will join an inter-professional collaborative team to provide clinical services to adults with serious mental illness who have been found Unfit to Stand Trial or Not Criminally Responsible who are both inpatients and outpatients. Individuals with interest and experience working with a female patient population in a trauma informed model of care are preferred. The position includes flexibility to contribute to various areas of our care continuum including court and risk assessments. Supervision is available for re-training or adding an area of competency.
QUALIFICATIONS
Certification / Experience / Knowledge :
- Registration as a Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario and entitled to practice in the area of Clinical and / or Forensic / Correctional psychology with no restrictions required
- Forensic / correctional area of competence is an asset
- Must demonstrate excellent knowledge of the selection, administration and scoring of psychological and / or neuropsychological tests
- Must demonstrate excellent knowledge of diagnostic nosology, psychopathology, diagnostic issues and treatment modalities
- Proven experience participating as a member of an inter-professional team with the ability to function well in a recovery-oriented climate
- Must demonstrate experience providing clinical leadership and supervision within clinical teams
- Experience in providing individual therapy, group therapy or psycho-education is required
