ANDRITZ Separation s Saskatoon Service Centre is seeking a afternoon Shop Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing shop floor, ensuring efficient production processes, meeting production targets, maintaining quality standards, and fostering a safe and productive work environment.
The successful candidate will assist with the following duties :
- Supervise hourly shop personnel.
- Expedite critical jobs through the assembly, test, and inspection processes.
- Identifies any bottlenecks in the production flow and ensure that necessary labor, material, or support is applied to relieve the bottleneck.
- Ensure correct work skills are applied to do the job.
- Work with shop superintendent, planners, and QC personnel to ensure that the final product meets customer requirements and quality standards.
- Provide input on delivery schedules.
- Direct manpower and material to achieve a target of >
90% on time delivery.
- Enforces OH&S regulations.
- Enforce the rules and regulations of the company as they apply to the hourly workforce using progressive discipline as necessary.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of processes and equipment.
- Ensure all preventive maintenance and 5s programs are executed with scheduled audits.
- This position description is not intended to be all inclusive, and employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
When selecting candidates, we will be looking for the following :
- High school diploma.
- Minimum of five years of experience in an industrial environment.
- Tradesman preferred; Welding / CWB experience considered an asset.
- Previous supervisory experience in a unionized environment preferred.
- Proficient in using Microsoft office.
- Strong work ethic, trustworthy, and dependable.
- Above average problem-solving abilities as well as the ability to "think outside the box".
- This position requires the ability to handle multiple tasks with a short period of time.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and able to read manufacturing and assembly drawings.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions :
- 4 x 10-hour workweek. Monday through Thursday. 2nd shift (3 : 30pm start).
- This is a salaried, out-of-scope position.
- 90% of time will be spent in the shop and 10% office work.
