About the Role
The successful candidate will be an experienced and detail-oriented team member who contributes strongly to our manufacturing operations and is trusted by their peers. This is an opportunity to advance your skills in Amada CNC programming for both laser cutting and press brake forming.
Responsibilities
- In the near term (first 30 days), this person will support programming and optimization for Amada equipment, while splitting their time between current duties and programming work.
- In the longer term (30+ days), as programming needs continue to expand, the proportion of time spent on laser and brake press programming will increase, while time spent on current responsibilities will decrease.
- Business and operational needs will determine the exact pace of this transition.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, optimize, and maintain Amada CNC programs for laser cutting and press brake formingUse Amada software (VPSS 4i, Dr. Abe Bend / Blank) to create nests, bend programs, and setup sheetsRead and interpret CAD drawings, engineering documentation, and traveler reportsSupport machine operators by providing accurate instructions and troubleshooting assistanceEnsure machine output conforms to engineering specifications and quality standardsEvaluate tooling, bend allowances, and nesting layouts to maximize efficiency and material utilizationTroubleshoot programming and process issues, and provide continuous improvement feedbackCollaborate with manufacturing engineering and production teams to improve part designs for manufacturabilityExperience and Skills
Previous experience with Amada laser and brake press equipment at a high level – safely & efficientlyProficiency with Amada programming software (VPSS 3i, Dr. Abe, etc.)Strong CAD / CAM knowledge and ability to interpret technical drawingsSolid understanding of sheet metal properties, tolerances, and bend allowancesAptitude to communicate effectively with team members and provide operator supportCommitment to workplace safety and organizational standardsProfessional, responsible, reliable, and positive attitudeHigh productivity and strong attention to detailWorking with Oxygen8
