Junior Underground Mining Engineer

Montreal office is seeking a Junior Underground Mining Engineer . This role is responsible for discipline project design activities relating to concept (OME), pre-feasibility (PCE), bankable feasibility (CBE), EPCM and turnkey mining projects undertaken by DRA of all mining projects, studies as well as contracts.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to;Mining Design & DraftingManages design of underground mining resources.Manages the mine design tasks to ensure that mining designs are carried out inaccordance with client standards, specification documentation and relevant legislation.

Ensures the effective review and approval of mining design and engineering.Develops improved work practices and ensures familiarity with new mining technologies.

Undertakes techno-economic investigations.Provides mining inputs for mining feasibility studies.Prepares mine design documentation as per requirements for the level of study.

Project ManagementLiaises and co-ordinates with the client, project manager and engineers of otherdisciplines to ensure adherence to project and client requirements and specifications.

Manages the schedule (time), cost, quality and scope on all mining contracts on theproject.Manages the mining site supervisors to ensure that mining contractors perform toproject safety, environmental and quality requirements.

Advises, monitors and controls all mining site staff and contractors on behalf of the SiteProject Manager.Assures the client and project manager that the design, erection, testing andcommissioning of a mining installation, under his charge, complies with all safety andstatutory requirements.

Acts within the framework of Mining contracts under his / her management.Manages high level of risks within the project in regard to engineering processes,systems, equipment and infrastructure.
