ServiceNow Specialist Key Responsibilities

CSDM & Service Mapping

  • Partner with teams to build and maintain ServiceNow Common Service Data Model (CSDM)-based service maps.
  • Document application dependencies, service relationships, and data flows for 100+ applications.
  • Collaborate with IT Asset Management to ensure data consistency and integrity.
  • Data Mapping & Analysis

  • Perform data mapping exercises focused on ITOM and CMDB structures in ServiceNow.
  • Convert raw data into actionable insights to populate the CMDB.
  • Identify service relationships (APM, APP, CI).
  • Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work directly with application owners and technical teams to validate and improve service maps.
  • Facilitate workshops on service mapping best practices and CSDM alignment.
  • Act as a liaison between IT and business units for all CSDM & Service Mapping activities.
  • ServiceNow Specialist Must-Have Skills

    Technical Knowledge

  • Minimum 3-5 years of ServiceNow experience focusing on ITOM and CMDB.
  • Proficiency in Service Mapping, CMDB design, ITOM standards, and IT Asset Management.
  • Strong understanding of the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) framework in ServiceNow.
  • Familiarity with ITIL principles, service catalog management, and dependency hierarchy practices.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving

  • Proven ability to analyze complex data and map it to service relationships.
  • Experience managing large-scale mapping projects across 100+ applications.
  • Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience conducting workshops and collaborative discussions on technical solutions.
  • Tools & Technologies

  • Proficient in ServiceNow modules such as :
  • CMDB

  • ITOM
  • ITSM
  • Skilled with service mapping tools and techniques for CI identification.
