$125,000 – $170,000 + bonus & benefits
About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-established public accounting firm in Richmond Hill offering Assurance, Accounting, Tax, and Advisory services to a diverse client base across Canada and the U.S.
As part of continued growth within their Assurance division , they are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to provide leadership across multiple client engagements, mentor teams, and support firm-wide quality and growth initiatives.
This is a strong opportunity for a seasoned assurance professional who enjoys technical leadership, client interaction, and team development , and is looking for long-term growth within a collaborative firm.
The Role
As Senior Manager, you will oversee assurance engagements from planning through completion, acting as a technical and strategic leader for both clients and internal teams.
You'll work closely with Partners while maintaining ownership of client relationships and contributing to the continued development of the Assurance practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple audit and assurance engagements from planning to completion
- Ensure compliance with professional standards and firm methodology
- Resolve complex accounting and auditing matters
- Review financial statements and engagement deliverables
- Mentor and coach managers, seniors, and junior staff
- Maintain strong client relationships and act as a trusted advisor
- Manage deadlines, budgets, and multiple concurrent engagements
- Support quality assurance reviews and firm-wide quality initiatives
- Assist with staff performance management, succession planning, and career development
- Contribute to business development efforts, proposals, and firm initiatives
- Support continuous improvement of audit tools, templates, and methodologies
What Our Client Is Looking For
CPA designation required6–8+ years of public accounting experience, including leadership responsibilityPrior experience at the Senior Manager level within public accounting (1–2 years preferred)Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting frameworks (ASPE, IFRS, NPO, Public Sector)Proven ability to manage complex engagements and competing prioritiesStrong leadership, mentoring, and communication skillsClient-focused mindset with the ability to build senior-level relationshipsExperience with CaseWare (and TaxPrep considered an asset)Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Why Join Our Client
