Job description

Main Duties

This position focuses on operational effectiveness and ensuring an ultimate guest experience, by providing effective oversight of Casino operations, in assigned areas.

Responsibilities include : monitoring Casino operations to ensure overall integrity, and compliance with policies and procedures. Ensuring proper oversight and management of Casino financial activities. Developing business plans and budgets, with focus on revenue forecasting and projects. Providing effective direction to Casino Shift Managers and staff, promoting good relationships and ensuring they have the knowledge and tools they need to succeed. Handling escalated patron and staff complaints. Developing strong and positive relationships internally and externally, including maintaining a visible presence in the community. Overseeing all Casino operations, and related responsibilities, in the absence of the General Manager. Ensuring effective flow of communication to, from, and between all Casino departments. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of best practices in Casino operations, through on-going research and training. Serving shifts as the Casino Shift Manager on a rotational schedule. Modeling SIGA’s values, and serving as a positive representative of SIGA. Participating in other projects and activities as required, in support of Casino operations.

  • Successful applicants are subject to a background check as well are required to obtain and maintain a gaming employee Certificate of Registration from the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA).
  • The minimum age to work in a casino or any area where gaming can be seen is 19 years of age.
  • Must possess valid Saskatchewan Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
  • Some SIGA locations operate in a high sensory environment. You may be required to work in an environment where you will be exposed to tobacco smoke, high noise levels, flashing and blinking lights, and a congested workplace. SIGA adheres to all occupational health and safety regulations and makes every effort to limit the adverse effects of these elements.
  • Compliance with all regulatory requirements as may be applicable to your position including but not limited to both SLGA requirements and the Anti-Money Laundering requirements set out in the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act and regulations and policies made thereunder by Canada and FINTRAC.

Qualifications

Education :

  • Successful completion of a four-year bachelor degree in Business Administration, Commerce or a related discipline.
  • Experience :

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in business or gaming management is required. Must have experience in motivating, training, and working effectively with management and staff who have a variety of backgrounds and training.
