Senior Hydrogeologist - Mining Environment at Stantec
Opportunity
At Stantec we partner with clients to design fit‑for‑purpose solutions that address communities’ unique needs throughout the mining lifecycle. As a Senior Hydrogeologist you will play a key role in a wide variety of mining projects, working within multidisciplinary teams on projects through each phase of mine life (baseline and impact assessment projects, feasibility studies, hydrogeological assessments, etc).
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary scope of work within a team of hydrologists, hydrogeologists, and geochemists.
- Interact directly with clients and collaborate with technical teams to deliver high‑quality project outcomes.
- Apply strong quantitative hydrogeology skills, including groundwater modelling and geochemical specialists.

Strong demand for high‑quality, organized and consistent results.Dynamic performance in a fast‑paced environment.Mentor junior to mid‑level staff.Manage time, be organized, and set priorities.Confident individual who demonstrates strong initiative and is capable of independent action with the ability to make informed decisions.Positive work environment contributor.Experience in the mining sector.Field work experience : drilling and aquifer testing (packer test).Numerical groundwater flow and transport modelling is an asset.Expertise in saturated flow modelling using MODFLOW and / or FEFLOW.Cover design evaluation is an asset.Knowledge of mine and environmental regulations and policies is an asset.Groundwater chemistry for mining‑related projects an asset.Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent written and verbal communication skills and advanced technical report writing skills.Fundamental understanding of project‑task management.Experience in marketing and preparing proposals and presentations.Valid driver’s license.Relocation support may be provided.Education & Experience
Minimum of an M.Sc. in Hydrogeology / Geology / Geochemistry or related field is preferred.A minimum of 10 years of working experience in consulting or regulatory environment.Regularly developing or utilizing unsaturated and saturated flow models is preferred.Existing professional registration or ability to work towards a professional registration in Quebec (OIQ or AGQ).Location & Logistics
