We are looking for a highly motivated and energetic professional to join our team as a Packaging Technician in Whitby, ON .
This is an on-site position.
Responsibilities :
- Ensure the efficient completion of packaging floor activities in order to meet scheduled production deadlines.
- Ensure product quality meets the standards and applicable regulatory agencies including, but not limited to the Health Products and Food Branch Inspectorate (HPFBI), United States Food & Drug Administration (FDA), and European Medicines Agency (EMEA).
- Perform work at various positions on the packaging line including capping, cartoning, packing shippers, and palletizing in accordance with established standards and Good Manufacturing Practices requirements to meet production targets.
- Inspect packaged products for presence and correctness of lot number, expiry date and general packaging appearance and completeness.
- Ensure line cleanliness practices, procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and packaging instructions are followed.
- Perform equipment set up and tear down duties. Maintain a safe working environment and report potential hazards.
- Follow all Environmental Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Perform alternating or rotating shift work.
Qualifications :
- Minimum High school diploma / General Educational Development (GED) Certificate is required.
- Minimum 1 year experience in pharmaceutical, food or cosmetic related manufacturing. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.
- Ability to maintain records of activities as instructed.
- Maintain workspace in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights of up to 40 pounds;
arm, hand and finger dexterity; visual acuity to operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office software applications.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices is an asset.
- Effective communication skills.
