Our Rail Systems Practice is looking for a Senior RAM Engineer / Specialist in Alberta to join our growing team in Canada.

This role will report to the Systems Assurance Lead for Canada. To perform this role successfully, the individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following :

  • Working with other Systems Engineering and Assurance team members and with multi-discipline project staff on the delivery of key assurance and engineering processes and practices within MM’s North American practices.
  • Undertake RAM engineering activities on projects.
  • Undertake RAM engineering activities in accordance with the life cycle phases of the EN 50126
  • Undertake RAM analysis and associated activities including development of Reliability Block Diagrams
  • Assist in the verification and validation of Rail Control systems
  • Interaction with, and direct support to colleagues across Mott MacDonald
  • Work with key delivery partners and service providers for projects
  • Engage with end clients as and when necessary

The ideal candidate will have the following experience :

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering / Science (preferably Engineering Physics / Systems / Mechanical Engineering).
  • P. Eng in Alberta or BC (or eligible to register)
  • Minimum 8-10years of progressive experience in System Assurance / RAMS engineering and assessment with significant experience in rail and transit projects.
  • Demonstrable strength in a minimum of two of the following :
  • RAM apportionment
  • RAM modeling, prediction, and assessment
  • FRACAS
  • RAM Demonstration
  • Working knowledge of the remainder
  • Exceptional technical writing and verbal communications skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to plan, lead and document technical meetings and conversations with clients, contractors, suppliers and regulators
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplined team
  • Able to hold competent technical discussions with Client representatives
  • Able to interface with domain specialists, design managers and construction project managers, in a competent professional manner.
  • Broad knowledge and experience of delivery within major rail infrastructure / system projects and / or operation within technology development and implementation projects.
