Development Manager – Cultural / Institutional Project

MatchBox Consulting Group is working with a major cultural institution in Vancouver to engage a Development Manager on a 12-month contract .
This role supports a design-led, public-facing cultural project and requires deep architectural and design experience . It is not a residential, pro-forma, or financially driven development role.
The Role
The Development Manager will support the project through design coordination and municipal approvals, with a strong emphasis on architecture, urban design, and City of Vancouver processes .
You will work closely with the design team, consultants, and City stakeholders to advance the project through key approval stages.
Ideal Background
Strong experience on institutional or cultural projects
(arts, civic, academic, museum, or similar)
Architecture-led background with a high level of design fluency
Well-versed in the City of Vancouver Development Permit and approvals process
Experience coordinating architects, urban designers, and technical consultants
Comfortable operating in public-realm, design-sensitive environments
Clear, professional communicator with strong stakeholder skills
This role is not suited to candidates whose experience is primarily residential, pro-forma, or finance-driven development.
Engagement Details
