Remarkable people, trusted by clients to design and advance the world. Wood is recruiting an Offshore Materials & Documentation Planner to join its Operations team focusing on the oil and gas petrochemical industry. This opportunity is offshore Newfoundland and Labrador.
The Role
- Location : Offshore Newfoundland and Labrador
- Site / Office based : Hibernia
- Hours of work : 12 hours per day
- Rotation / work pattern : 21 days on, 21 days off
- Required : Site‑specific medical, drug and alcohol testing
- Unionized position : Rates follow the Collective Bargaining Agreement
The Materials & Documentation Planner will track, load, unload, order, organize, and distribute project related materials. They will work to ensure that materials are available and accessible when required and will work under immediate supervision, as part of a team.

Responsibilities
Follow all company and site‑specific safety rules, and work within the Company’s Safety ProgramRead and interpret instructions and documentation to plan work activities. Prioritizing tasks to meet the overall needs of the project. Expedite the flow of materials to certain areas when requiredReview production schedules and related information. Communicate with department supervisors to determine material requirements to identify overdue materials and to track material needsRequisition material and establishes sequential delivery dates to departments, according to priorities and material availabilityLoad and unload materials, using safe work practices and acceptable rigging proceduresCoordinate and prioritize containers for loading onto offshore vesselsReceive, inspect, and document materials upon arrival on the platformPlan, stage and coordinate materials and equipment for day to day activities as well as turnarounds and planned outagesConduct weekly inventory audits and manage regular stock and consumable ordersMonitor product shelf life and ensure compliance with expiry requirementsManage backloading activities and track all inbound and outboundEnsure tools and equipment are sent for inspection and re‑certification in accordance with requirementsOrder, receive, and track personal protective equipment (PPE)Update and track maintenance workorder status to ensure timely executionConduct weekly maintenance material requirement review in collaboration with the maintenance teamUnderstand and follow customer material specificationsExamines material delivered to production departments to verify conformance to specificationsTrack and record materials movement, accounting for all project related material. Utilizing computer programs for accurate trackingRecord and communicate materials deliveries. Accounting for overages, shortages and damagesMove materials to required location, utilizing equipment when requiredQualifications

Relevant experience in materials handling and coordination is requiredFamiliarity and knowledge of common materials used under a variety of trade disciplines is requiredAbility to understand project schedules and communicate with project management regarding potential materials related issuesMust have the ability to use SAP for management of materials, work orders, and maintenance trackingComputer experience : Microsoft Excel and other functions of Microsoft Office Suite are required. Must pass a site‑specific drug and alcohol test, as required by the customerMust be able to safely lift and carry up to 50lbsMust possess enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified aboveAble to move and work in confined spaces, following proper protocolWill be required consistently to work 12hour shifts performing physical labour in varying temperature extremes and conditionsMust be able to climb and maintain balance on stairs, ladders, scaffolds and steel framework, utilizing proper fall arrest procedures when required.
