Position Summary As a Site HSE Coordinator (Construction Safety Officer), you will promote a safe and healthy work environment for all personnel on site.

You will provide health, safety, and environmental support to help ensure Ventana not only meets, but exceeds, industry standards.

You will support the Project Superintendent on-site throughout the construction phase and be responsible for the day-to-day implementation and maintenance of Ventana’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) program.

As a Site HSE Coordinator your key accountabilities will involve : Monitor safety compliance of workers and sub-contractors.

Conduct site-specific health and safety orientations for all new site workers and visitors.Facilitate and participate in site inspections, and implementing corrective action.

Proactively identify hazards and implement corrective measures.Prepare site safety plans, conduct hazard assessments, incident investigations and risk assessments.

Ensure all accidents, incidents, and injuries are properly reported to all appropriate parties.Review sub-contractor documentation for accuracy and provide feedback to personnel.

Conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks.Administer first-aid as necessary.Assist with additional duties as required to assist the project teamAs a Site HSE Coordinator your success is dependent on : The ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced, deadline driven environmentYou have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)The ability to build solid long-lasting relationshipsThe ability to anticipate problems and solve proactivelyClose attention to detail, are observantYou have a high degree of professionalism and maturityYou have strong time management skills, particularly the ability to prioritize a multitude of tasksAble to problem solve with a strong technical mindsetExcellent customer service skills with the ability to respond to problems in a friendly and solution-oriented manner.

You have people management skills and have been in a leadership environment.As a Site HSE Coordinator your experience and qualifications will include : Experience overseeing health and safety on a construction site considered an asset.

Certified Construction Safety Officer (CSO) ticket or equivalent combination of training and experienceOccupational First Aid Level III (OFA 3) CertificationSolid knowledge of WorkSafe BC regulations, policies, guidelines and standards.
