Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Health & Safety Management
- Implement, maintain, and continually improve the corporate Health & Safety Management System.
- Develop site-specific safety plans, orientations, safe work practices, and procedures.
- Administer the Injury Management Programme for injured workers with medical restrictions.
- Conduct and review accident / incident investigations.
- Perform site inspections and audits; document findings and follow-up.
- Develop and distribute Weekly Safety Meeting Topics, Near Miss Reviews, and Red Alerts.
- Deliver new worker and site-specific orientations; administer the New Hire Programme.
- Organise and facilitate safety training (VINCI Safety Week, annual Safety Days, and other initiatives).
- Schedule and record minutes for monthly JOSH committee meetings.
- Maintain safety supply inventory; support annual COR internal audits and prequalification (ISNetworld, ComplyWorks, YVR).
- Maintain monthly / annual safety statistics.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (HSE Manager, Superintendents, Foremen, workers) and external parties (WorkSafeBC, BCCSA, contractors).
- Maintain strong knowledge of WorkSafeBC Regulations, Canada Labour Code, National Safety Code, and NFPA.
- Guide / facilitate external audits and monitor implementation of audit findings.
Traffic Control – Specific Responsibilities
Lead Traffic Control planning and compliance in accordance with WorkSafeBC Part 18 and MoTI Traffic Management Manual (2020).Develop, review, and implement Traffic Management Plans (TMP); coordinate approvals with municipalities / MoTI.Ensure daily Traffic Control Plans are documented using BA Blacktop procedures and included in the Daily Pre-Work Plan; verify TCS designation each shift.Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
3–5+ years’ hands‑on Traffic Control experience (TCP / TCS), including team supervision and field coordination.Construction Safety Officer (CSO) certification.Proven ability to develop and execute TMPs and site Traffic Control Plans aligned with WorkSafeBC Part 18 and MoTI TMM (2020).Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, facilitation, leadership, and communication skills.High level of physical fitness; able to work effectively under pressure.Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.Desirable Qualifications
CHSC; NHSA or NCSO.COR Internal Auditor certificate.Occupational First Aid certificate.Respirator Fit Tester certificate.Experience supporting audits and risk management for roadway operations, lane closures, multi‑lane setups, and high‑risk scenarios.Additional Comments On The Role
Location : office in Port Kells (Surrey, BC) with projects across the Fraser Valley Area.
Pay : $70,000 – $80,000 per year
