Overview
The primary role of the Assembler is to facilitate the assembly and fabrication of final products. This role will also perform duties as required by a Team Lead / Supervisor / Manufacturing Operations Manager, in multiple departments as needed.
Roles & Responsibilities
Fabrication and assembly of parts as per schematic under supervision of a supervisor.Proficient with small hand and power tools such as wrenches, drills, and grinders.Familiarize themselves with and / or request training concerning new small / hand‑held equipment.Assist and comply with company inventory requirements.Unload and load products for delivery.Maintain small / hand‑held equipment in good working order and notify Supervisor of malfunctions.Assist trades people, Team Lead / Supervisor / Manufacturing Operations Manager with responsibilities pertinent to project progress in a safe manner and in accordance with 5‑S program.Liaise with a Team Lead / Supervisor / Manufacturing Operations Manager to find and confirm new duties.Familiarize themselves with new projects and duties.Organize and clean the department, particularly at the end of each workday.Notify the Team Lead / Supervisor / Manufacturing Operations Manager of any unsafe conditions, practices, or procedures observed.May be required to move materials with forklift or overhead crane if trained and authorized.Perform all duties in accordance with Silent‑Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code.Other duties as required.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.Effective communication skills.Time management skills.Critical eye for identifying defects.Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and tools required in various assembly processes.Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.Must be able to carry and move equipment and / or supplies in excess of 40 pounds.Must be able to read a tape measure and perform simple mathematical fractional equations.Ability to read blueprints is considered an asset.Working Conditions
Commercial / Industrial environment.Manual dexterity required to use necessary tools.Exercise caution, as environment presents many naturally occurring hazards.Always adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment).Long periods of standing.Overtime as required.Contacts
