Chief Information Officer (CIO)

Position: Chief Information Officer (CIO)Location: Calgary, Alberta Schedule: Hybrid Overview: We are currently seeking a Chief Information Officer (CIO) for a leading post-secondary institution based in Calgary, Alberta. The CIO will lead the digital transformation and technology strategy for a leading post-secondary institution. This executive will ensure IT services and infrastructure meet the evolving needs of students, faculty, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute an institution-wide IT strategy aligned with academic and research priorities
• Oversee cybersecurity, data governance, and enterprise systems management
• Drive digital learning innovations, online delivery platforms, and accessibility technologies
• Build partnerships with academic units to advance research computing capabilities
• Lead a high-performing, service-oriented IT team

Qualifications:

• 10+ years in IT leadership, preferably in higher education or public-sector environments
• Experience with learning management systems, ERP systems, and data analytics in academia
• Knowledge of Alberta’s data privacy regulations and digital infrastructure landscape
• Demonstrated success in strategic planning and resource optimization
• Have access to a vehicle and valid driver’s license; flexible to travel
