Description :

We are seeking a talented individual to join Oliver Wyman Group as a Counsel . This role will be based in Toronto. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Join Oliver Wyman Group as a Counsel, where you will provide essential legal support and advice to our businesses across the Americas. This role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of legal agreements while identifying liability exposures and offering practical solutions to manage risk and support growth.

We will count on you to :

Under general supervision :

Negotiate and draft various types of legal documents including contracts, memos, subcontracts, vendor agreements and other legal documents.Analyze new and changing laws and regulations.Identify liability exposure and provide creative solutions to manage and reduce risk.Interact with outside counsel for OWG as well as outside counsel for adverse parties.Conduct negotiations with external third parties, elevating unresolved legal issues to other members of the legal department as appropriate.

May provide business colleagues with practical advice and guidance, and develop solutions to issues while managing business and legal considerations.

Interpret and explain contract terms to internal business colleagues.

Assist with responding to RFP proposals to prospective clients.

Manage workflow effectively in a proactive and responsive fashion.

What you need to have :

Requires qualification and license to practice law as per local statutes, rules and regulations.

Juris Doctor (JD) degree and qualification to practice law in Canada.

A minimum of 4 years of legal experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.

Proven experience in reviewing and negotiating contracts, with a solid understanding of contractual risk.

Strong organizational and communication skills, with keen attention to detail.
