Job description

Our Village of Riverside Glen, located in Guelph, Ontario has an exciting opportunity for a RECREATION TEAM MEMEBER to join their team.

Shift Details :

  • 30 hours biweekly
  • Shifts times 8-16 and 12-20
  • Alternating weekends

  • As a new Recreation Team Member, yo u will :

  • Have experience working with the geriatric population
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
  • Support and embrace our resident-centred social culture.
  • Work as key member of our Village and neighbourhood multidisciplinary teams to understand residents’ individual needs,
  • Foster exemplary relationships with residents, their families and the Village team to deliver holistic services
  • Knowledge of the five domains in Therapeutic Recreation that contribute to an individual’s health
  • It would be an asset if our new Recreation Team Members has :

  • Enrolled in or completed a diploma or degree recreation / leisure studies and / or gerontology from a community college or university is an asset
  • Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation and regulations applicable to the long-term care sector, including the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007 and Health & Safety
  • Experience working with people living with dementia
