Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Production Manager to oversee our custom cabinet door company. The primary responsibilities include managing the sanding, painting, packaging, and shipping processes. You will oversee a team of approximately six people, with plans to grow the team to 10-12 members over the next few years. This role involves managing one shift and ensuring production efficiency. You will also have the opportunity to implement new processes and interface with the prep, paint, quality, shipping, and customer service departments.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the production processes including sanding, painting, packaging, and shipping of custom cabinet doors.
  • Manage a team of six production workers, with plans to expand to 10-12 members.
  • Ensure production efficiency and quality standards are met.
  • Implement new processes to improve production efficiency.
  • Interface with the prep, paint, quality, shipping, and customer service departments.
  • Communicate effectively to make clear decisions and motivate the team.
  • Foster a culture that values quality and continuous improvement.

Essential Skills

  • Production management or supervision experience, overseeing teams of at least 10 people.
  • Proficiency in establishing continuous efficiency and improvement processes.
  • Expertise in maintaining quality control.
  • Overseeing an automated painting line is considered an asset, as they have an automated paint line
  • Mechanical aptitude considered an asset, to perform basic troubleshooting on the lines.

    • Work Environment

  • The work environment includes a prep area (sanding), painting line, manual paint booth, packaging area, shipping area, showroom front, and office.
  • There is a paint and sanding odor, but PPE is provided to ensure safety and comfort.
  • Located Ottawa Trainyards.
  • Monday to Friday shifts from 7 : 00am to 4 : 00pm.
