This will include participating in the expansion of Cooledge’s product roadmap as well as sustaining engineering for current technologies, including development and implementation of lighting controls solutions. As the ideal candidate, you will possess knowledge and design experience related to lighting control protocols including, but not limited to 0-10V, Dali, DMX, Bluetooth wireless, etc. You will also have strong electronics lab skills and be proficient in creating PCB layouts. Role and Responsibilities : On-going support of legacy product designs, BOM updates and Engineering Change Orders, including customer support, product trouble shooting, and failure analysis.Support Maintenance of Line (MOL) for legacy products.Source and evaluate off the shelf and custom controls interfaces, drivers, and electronic components.Writing test specifications and performing verification testing, including data collection, analysis and test reports.System level design and development of lighting controls solutions.Electronics design of prototype and production lighting products including circuit design, schematic captured, PCB layouts, assemblies, and controls electronics.Support and development of firmware.Assemble and test prototype and pre-production products.Technical support for our Installation Team and Sales Team.Execute design of experiments for process and product development.Other duties as assigned. Qualification : 1+ years’ experience, with a minimum of Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics or Diploma of Technology or similar preferred. New graduates will be considered.Analog and digital prototyping, design and troubleshooting experience using basic lab equipment - lab PSU, DMM, oscilloscope, power analyzer, etc. is required.Schematic capture and PCB layout experience using electronics design / layout CAD software - experience with Altium Designer required.Experience in firmware programming with 32-bit RISC microcontrollers from STMicro and Infineon (Cypress) is required.Hands on prototyping and soldering skills including both thru-hole and small pitch SMT parts required.Experience with electronics production processes, part sourcing and component evaluation is required.Experience with AC / DC Power Supplies and LED Drivers is a great asset.Lighting controls or related communication networking experience will be an asset.Experience with Arena PLM software is an asset.Knowledge of EMI and EMC testing, plus UL / CE safety certification experience is a great asset.Ability to analyze and solve complex problems.Detail oriented.Knowledge of MS Office (excel, word, etc.) required.Excellent communication skills (presentation, written, verbal) of both technical and non-technical issues.Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to drive for results.A strong work ethic and a “can-do” attitude.Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.Contact Details : Cooledge offers a competitive compensation package and a business culture which rewards performance.
