Quality Control Technician Intern – Aggregates

What You'll Be Doing

  • Collect aggregate samples from pits, quarries, stockpiles, autosamplers, and production belts following standardized procedures.
  • Travel to sites to validate materials, interact with site personnel, and transport samples back to the lab.
  • Conduct routine sampling and testing of materials to ensure product quality and compliance including sieve analysis, gradation checks, moisture content tests, and other aggregate‑related tests.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts by identifying quality issues and contributing to corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with production staff to promote continuous improvement in quality processes.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in the lab and field sampling areas. Maintain testing equipment and ensure proper calibration and safety practices.

What Are We Looking For

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on safety, quality control processes, process improvements, and detailed record keeping.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and effective oral and written communication skills to support collaboration across departments.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfort working with technical data.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Work Environment

  • Work performed in both laboratory and outdoor industrial settings.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, noise, and moving equipment.
  • Role may involve standing, walking, operating testing tools or machinery, and lifting up to 50lbs as part of regular job duties.
  • Use of personal protective equipment required.
