Salary : $55,000 - $70,000 annual salary

As a Project Accountant, you will be responsible for managing accounts payable and receivable, for multiple construction projects, under the direct supervision of the Controller. You will function as a key point of contact between subcontractors, project managers and the Controller and will have responsibility to ensure that all commitments are accurately invoiced, each month, in accordance with relevant laws, statutes, and regulations.
This role requires excellent organizational skills, basic contract & financial process knowledge, and a general knowledge of the construction industry.
Responsibilities
Tracking all project related expenses, ensuring that supporting documentation is complete and accurate, while also being validated by the site and project management personnel.
Gathering and entering project related invoices, including attachment of supporting
documentation.
Pulling WorkSafe BC clearance letters, gathering and reviewing statutory declarations, and
gathering packing slips and delivery tickets from the site team.
Closed-loop follow-up correspondence with subcontractors, material suppliers, and equipment providers when invoicing does not align with commitments, schedules of values, work completed, or services provided.
Support the Project Manager(s) during subcontract substantial performance, ensuring appropriate forms have been completed and posted, as defined in the BC Lien Legislation.
Advise the Project Manager(s) and Controller of any instance where invoicing does not appear to align with the commitment, exceeds work-in-place, etcetera.
Document and monitor release of lien holdback, process and hold invoices, etcetera, in tandem with the Controller.
