Job descriptionOperate and maintain Loram’s specialized rail maintenance equipment safely and efficiently. Perform mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic maintenance—inspections, troubleshooting, repairs. Collaborate with teammates to ensure equipment performance and safety standards. Communicate effectively via radio, in‑person, and written methods. Follow FRA, OSHA, and Loram safety protocols. Participate in continuous training to improve skills and support career growth. High school diploma or GED. Valid driver’s license. Valid passport; eligible to enter the United States for training. No prior rail experience required—training provided. Strong teamwork, communication, and problem‑solving skills. Positive attitude, work ethic, eagerness to learn and grow. Commitment to safety and industry standards. Proficient in English, verbal and written communication. Travel 100% of the time, including international. Rotational field assignments (6–8 weeks) with long workdays (12+ hrs). Physically demanding work outdoors in all weather conditions. Extensive walking, climbing, lifting (75+ lbs.) and confined spaces or heights. Exposure to unique challenges and opportunities to develop practical, in‑demand skills. Comfortable working in challenging outdoor environments. Walk 5–9 miles per day on uneven terrain. Lift and handle tools / equipment weighing 75+ lbs. Meet vision and hearing requirements for day and night operations. Loram does not sponsor work visas. Medical, dental, and vision insurance. Join Loram Maintenance of Way, Inc. as a Rail Equipment Maintenance Operator. No rail experience required; full training provided for candidates with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or heavy equipment operation backgrounds.

- Annual Earnings : $72,600 – $93,600 CAD (6‑weeks‑on / 2‑weeks‑off rotation, 65‑80 hrs per week).
- Advancement : 90% promoted within one year; 50% receive two promotions within the same time.
- Benefits : Medical, Dental, Life Insurance; RRSP retirement plan with 100% match up to 9%; paid travel and lodging for job assignments.
- Travel Perks : Loram covers hotel / motel rooms and all work‑related travel to and from job sites. Employees responsible for personal expenses.
