Systems Testing / Quality Assurance Specialist On behalf of our client in the Government Services Sector, PROCOM is looking for a Systems Testing / Quality Assurance Specialist.
Systems Testing / Quality Assurance Specialist- Job Description
- Provide advice on testing strategy, test plans, selection of testing tools, and identification of resources required for testing
- Plan and organize testing efforts for large systems in both Graphical User Interface (GUI) and non-Graphical User Interface (non-GUI) environments
- Execute systems integration tests, specialized tests, and user acceptance testing (UAT), including stress tests
- Develop test plans, test scripts, and test cases and execute them against various components
- Collaborate with the testing lead, IT lead, and project team members in the analysis, design, development, implementation, and ongoing support of required systems
Systems Testing / Quality Assurance Specialist- Mandatory Skills
- Experience in planning, organizing, and implementing testing efforts
- Knowledge of structured methodologies for application development, design, implementation, and maintenance
- Familiarity with Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools and data query tools for test case development
- Proficiency in using automated test tools and version control systems across platforms
- Execution of functional tests, non-functional tests, and systems-level integration tests
- Support for user acceptance testing (UAT) and participation in UAT activities
- Understanding of quality assurance principles, practices, and structured methodologies
- Creation of testing strategy documentation, test plans, test cases, and test data
- Experience across all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work well within a team and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with one or more automated testing tools
Systems Testing / Quality Assurance Specialist - Preferred Skills
- Knowledge and experience in at least one programming language
- Use of information retrieval packages
- Understanding of testing methods in an object-oriented environment
- Familiarity with Information Management principles
- Awareness of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations
- Experience in planning and organizing testing efforts for both large and small systems
- Proficiency in coding automated test scripts
- Testing of Commercial Off-the-Shelf Applications (COTS)
