Pharmacy Coordinator – Bayshore HealthCare

Under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the pharmacy coordinator provides excellent customer service to patients, interacts with Patient Assistant Programs, and works with internal and external stakeholders. The role includes administrative and organizational tasks in a pharmaceutical setting.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide exemplary customer service that meets the standards of Bayshore Specialty Rx; customer interaction is largely done via phone and e‑mail.
• Create and maintain patient records in pharmacy software, filing and documenting appropriately according to P&Ps, and using required paperwork (logs).
• Manage pharmacy records such as site calendars, appointment changes, dispensing and shipping schedules.
• Accurately confirm delivery address with specialty programs and patients to ensure timely arrival at the correct destination.
• Follow up with patients on outstanding accounts via phone calls.
• Assist the pharmacist or registered pharmacy technician in maintaining compliance with federal, provincial, local laws, accrediting body standards, and policies and procedures.
• Fax doctors for refills.
• Escalate situations as required to the appropriate pharmacy team member.
• Effectively communicate with both external and internal stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with health care professionals, reimbursement coordinators, and infusion clinics.
• Enter accurate data into various systems.
• Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
