Job description

Are you a bright and organized legal assistant or administrator looking for a new challenge in a cohesive, professional work environment?

This is a great opportunity for a competent and resourceful leasing administrator to play an integral role within this tightly knit but highly motivated team. This is not your standard corporate law office – it is a well-established Property Management firm in the downtown area that is looking for contributions from each of its team members, including working on a professional level with members of the company as well as tenants, real estate brokers and legal representatives.

The Opportunity

This is an ideal position for a detail-oriented candidate with a legal background and strong organizational time management skills. If you love the preparation of legal documentation and affiliated processes (preferably in real estate) and are seeking a challenging alternative to traditional law clerk or real estate brokerage work, this is a rare opportunity to expand your horizons with a well-respected local commercial landlord.

The successful proponent will coordinate the various stages of the commercial leasing process through the preparation of legal documentation, controlling and organizing data, reporting on and tracking delivery of timelines and managing all parties’ adherence to the terms of the real estate documentation.

You will also play a key role in internal and external communication to ensure all related obligations will be met by the various stakeholders. As a function of this role, various administrative tasks and scheduled relief of reception duties will be required.

Keys to Success

The ideal proponent for this role will have at least two years’ experience in a law firm with a strong desire to learn. Alternatively, solid experience with real estate contracts through a property management firm or real estate brokerage would be an asset and other contract management experience may be considered.

In addition, proven advanced computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are key for the success of the position. The successful proponent will thrive on being organized and efficient, possess critical thinking and analytical skills and have excellent attention to detail. The ideal candidate is also both reliable and resourceful and displays a high level of professionalism at all times.

In addition, this position will require a strong sense, initiative and drive to get things done correctly, with emphasis on working with and through people in the process. Understanding people well and using that understanding effectively to build relationships, motivate and persuade others to act, will be an important aspect of the position.

What We Offer

This firm offers a positive, professional working environment, competitive salary, and employee benefits (including a pension) to a motivated individual who is the right fit for this closely knit group. This position will be based out of the head office in the heart of the downtown core with excellent access to many amenities including great restaurants and services. Business hours for this role are 8-4pm.

Please note that candidates will be asked to perform a job-related task and / or testing as assessment tools for the hiring company.
