The role of the Senior Civil Engineer is to work on complex and exciting projects both independently and as a team member. In this position you could work as a technical engineer, project technical lead, project manager or a combination of roles to guide the projects to successful outcomes for the communities we work with. As a senior engineer, people leadership skills are important to work on multi-discipline teams and to mentor younger staff both technically and professionally.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Responsible to oversee small and large projects of high complexity, performing technical design tasks, and provide technical guidance and mentorship to other team members.
• Provides technical leadership for civil related projects and may serves as Engineer-of-Record on several projects.
• Perform Project Management and / or Project Technical Lead duties on projects with managing project teams and financial performance of project budgets.
• Perform client account management and development duties to grow the business. Develop project scope, budgets, and design approach for all size projects. Support marketing and business development professionals in positioning for potential projects, assisting / writing proposals, participating in client interviews and supporting negotiations for project contracts in British Columbia.
• Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and / or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors.
• Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects and projects of peers.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Education and Experience

Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. In office a minimum of 2 days per week.

Pay Transparency : In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
