Job Summary :

Reporting to the Director, Finance & Performance, CABHI, the Manager, Performance Evaluation, will support the achievement of CABHI's strategic objectives while ensuring compliance with external funder requirements. The position is responsible for evaluating CABHI’s research and innovation programs at the program-level and project-level, refining logic models, and overseeing data capture, integration, analysis, and reporting. By transforming data into actionable insights, the role enhances CABHI’s knowledge mobilization efforts, informs operational strategies, enhances internal / external reporting, and measures outcomes and impact.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

Program Evaluation and Data Analysis :

  • Lead the evaluation of research and innovation programs, ensuring accurate data capture, analysis, and presentation to drive informed organizational strategy and decision-making.
  • Collect, manage, analyze, and interpret data to transform it into actionable insights that support business processes, strategic goals, and reporting requirements.
  • Identify, refine, and integrate new survey methods, data sources, and analytical applications to demonstrate CABHI’s health and economic outcomes through advanced analytics.
  • Contribute to the creation, writing, and visualization of periodic impact reporting.

Strategic Planning and Decision Support :

  • Develop and / or refine logic models to effectively measure processes, outputs, and outcomes, ensuring alignment with CABHI’s strategic objectives.
  • Monitor trends, create forecast summaries, and oversee evaluation processes to inform both strategic and operational planning, driving continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Ensure adherence to external funder requirements, maintaining transparency and accountability in all evaluation and reporting processes.
  • Collaboration, Stakeholder Engagement, and Reporting :

  • Work collaboratively across departments to collaborate with multiple perspectives / disciplines and developing a comprehensive, organization-wide approach to the evaluation requirements of the role.
  • Utilize business intelligence and data visualization tools to effectively communicate findings tailored to different audiences, including funders, board, executive leadership, and management.
  • Serve as the resident expert on evaluation, sharing best practices in evaluation frameworks, data management, analytics, and visualization techniques with internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and counterparts across other Baycrest entities to align and enhance performance evaluation efforts.
  • Continuous Improvement and Best Practices :

  • Regularly review and enhance evaluation methodologies to ensure they remain relevant, effective, and aligned with both internal goals and industry standards.
  • Share expertise in evaluation best practices, data management, and visualization tools to improve organizational learning and data-driven decision-making.
  • Qualifications include but are not limited to :

  • Bachelor’s degree required in social science, research methods, healthcare evaluation, informatics, health information management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience, with proven ability to assess outcomes and impact at both high-level and detailed perspectives required
  • Proven experience in managing complex data projects, with proficiency in statistical and business analysis software (e.g., MS SQL Server / Oracle, SAS, R, Excel, Tableau).
  • Experience in interactive analysis for multi-dimensional views of data.
  • Deep understanding of the role of evaluation in driving impactful decision-making, with a passion for transforming data into strategic insights.
  • Strong skills in quantitative, statistical, and data analysis, coupled with excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency in managing data using relational and dimensional data models, and applying statistical and business analysis tools.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to drive CABHI’s data strategy and position the organization as a leader in demonstrating value through data-driven impact.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry standards for evaluation, metrics, and analyses in a value-based healthcare environment.
