Key Attributes As a Regional Development Officer , you will play a critical role in our mission, reporting directly to the Lead Regional Development Officer. This position is designed for a dynamic and strategic leader who will work collaboratively across various Lines of Business (LOBs) to bring hands-on experience in anchoring donors to the BGCA mission. Your focus will be on sustaining and growing individual revenue, special event revenue, and Trustee recruitment and engagement, with an estimated 30-40% travel requirement, including some weekends.

In this role, you will be expected to :
- Drive Revenue Growth : Manage a Regional Trustee and Ambassador Board to meet ambitious “give / get” revenue goals. You will have a personal multi-million-dollar fundraising target each year, working to secure annual gifts while establishing a pipeline for future growth.
- Strategic Recruitment : Establish a focused and systematic approach to engage high net-worth individuals capable of making major gifts. Your goal is to meet Trustee and Ambassador growth targets annually by identifying and developing major gift prospects through face-to-face visits, virtual meetings, and peer-led conversations.
- Engage and Cultivate Relationships : Develop and execute engagement, cultivation, and stewarding plans for individuals, corporations, and Trustees within your defined territory. Your ability to build relationships that connect personally to the mission will be key.
- Lead Regional Collaboration : Serve as a leader in regional fundraising efforts, fostering communication, collaboration, and excellence among fundraisers across different LOBs. You will also manage and execute regular regional meetings with various stakeholders to ensure shared goals and communication.
- Portfolio Management : Oversee a portfolio of approximately 100 qualified relationships, including current and prospective Trustees / Ambassadors, Lifetime Trustees, and select Board of Governors members, ensuring strategic engagement and successful fundraising outcomes.

Who You Are The ideal Regional Development Officer is a seasoned fundraising professional with at least 10 years of experience. You have successfully managed major gift solicitations of $100,000 or more and have a track record of growing donors from smaller gifts to significant contributions. You’re not just about closing gifts; you understand the importance of building long-term, meaningful relationships.
You’ve managed complex relationships and projects , ideally within a federated model, and have experience collaborating across multiple organizations or lines of business. You think strategically about engaging Trustees and board members and are adept at balancing a large donor portfolio while holding yourself accountable for fundraising progress.

Your knowledge of how boards are built and maintained, outcome measurement, and ABC’s culture and financial processes makes you a credible and effective advocate.Effective Fundraising : You establish yourself as a credible representative of the cause, identifying, cultivating, soliciting, closing, stewarding, and renewing commitments of $100,000 or more. You build strong partnerships with donors, understand their motivations, and design proposals that meet both donor and institutional needs. You successfully close complex six-figure commitments, including asset-based gifts, planned gifts, multi-year campaign pledges, and endowment commitments, acting as a good steward of donor resources.Qualifications
What You Bring
Education and Experience : A Bachelor's degree is required, with an MBA and CFRE preferred.You bring a minimum of ten years of successful front-line major gifts fundraising experience, including Board fundraising engagement.You have an impressive track record with major gift solicitations of $100,000 and above, managing a portfolio of 100-200 relationships with annual goal achievement and year-over-year revenue growth.Proven Success : Your experience working collaboratively as part of a nationally deployed team in a federated structure, coupled with your proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and a Blackbaud database environment, positions you to thrive in this role.Confidence and Humility : You need to be able to “sit at the table” with CEOs of national companies, exuding confidence without intimidation and humility that allows others to shine.High Responsiveness and Persistence : You have a high response time and speed, essential for engaging busy CEOs and their assistants.Your creativity and grit help you stay the course with individuals donating their time, talents, and resources.About the Resource Development Team
