Please visit for more information.What is the Opportunity?The Director PR & Communications is a key, new role within RCM’s brand, marketing and communications department. Reporting to the Chief Marketing & Communications Officer and working closely with RCM’s President & CEO and other leaders across the institution, this role will be responsible for internal and external communications, crafting and executing strategic communication plans, managing media relations, and ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms in alignment with RCM’s overall brand strategy. The ideal candidate will have exceptional journalistic instincts, a proven track record in creating and executing multi-channel PR campaigns, and be a prolific connector within the media landscape.Main Duties & ResponsibilitiesStrategic Communication Planning : Develop comprehensive communication strategies aligned with organizational goals.Media Relations : Develop and maintain relationships with journalists and media outlets, proactively pitch stories, and manage press inquiries.Content Creation : Oversee the development of press releases, media pitches, and content for various communication materials.Internal Communications : Partner with internal stakeholders to communicate company updates and initiatives.Event Management : Lead planning and execution of major events across the institution.Team Leadership : Oversee a small team of communications professionals, coaching and mentoring as needed.Cross-Functional Collaboration : Coordinate on a range of cross-functional campaigns and initiatives.Vendor Management : Evaluate and manage key vendor relationships.Analytics and Reporting : Manage budget spend, develop, track, and evaluate relevant KPIs.QualificationsWhat We're Looking For8 – 10 years of progressive experience in a senior communications role.Bachelor’s degree in public relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.Exceptional written communication skills.Proven track record with PR & communications campaigns.Experience leading and mentoring a small team.Strong interest in understanding broader trends and creating compelling narratives.Experience in or passion for the performing arts or music education sectors is an asset.Additional InformationOffice environment with occasional requirements to work outside of regular office hours.Hybrid work arrangement, being on-site three days per week.Interested candidates are asked to submit a cover letter and current résumé online at Applications will be accepted until a suitable candidate has been identified.
