Do you have experience in defined benefit pension plan administration? Would you like to be part of a dynamic team that leverages technology to deliver quality administration services in a supportive and team-oriented environment?

This is a fully remote role, offering you the flexibility to perform your responsibilities within the parameters of our work model. As a Manager, DB Administration, you will be responsible for all aspects of leading and developing a team of administrators for one or more clients, ensuring the timely delivery and quality of services, and building deep relationships with clients. With your attention to detail, you will accurately review complex automated and manual calculations. Drawing upon your extensive defined benefit administration expertise, you have a passion for excellence and enthusiasm to drive business results by identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities, while demonstrating effective and positive leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of administrators by championing quality, integrating team efforts, and building depth of expertise
  • Ensure all services delivered adhere to established procedures and plan / client requirements, while ensuring that quality control and audit standards are met
  • Plan and monitor workflows to ensure the timely delivery of services
  • Monitor compliance updates and their applicability to your team
  • Maintain a strong client relationship and engage in regular client interactions
  • Act as a subject matter expert and be able to resolve complex issues with third parties
  • Quality review various types of benefit calculations and member communications, including complex cases
  • Lead, monitor and / or initiate project work
  • Manage change management process to ensure that client requirements are met
  • Understand the various administration systems and tools
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and sense of urgency to ensure client and participant expectations are consistently met
  • Create and / or manage client process documentation
  • Develop strong internal relationships and provide associated support teams with documentation, training, and guidance
  • Recommend policy and process changes / improvements
  • Prepare client invoicing
  • Review new business pricing and proposals
  • Foster career development by providing training / coaching to team members
  • Act as an effective people manager to team members, including recognizing accomplishments, participating in salary and promotional recommendations, managing the employee performance process, and ensuring that new team members receive training

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Math, Business Administration, Statistics or related field, with a strong academic record
  • Minimum of 8 years progressive defined benefit administration experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of defined benefit plan design and the Canadian pension system
  • Deep understanding of the employee life cycle and end-to-end administration processing
  • Strong knowledge of defined benefit pension plan administration, policy, and the legislation of various jurisdictions
  • Strong working knowledge of Income Tax Act as it applies to defined benefit pension plans
  • Experience managing and leading teams
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively build strong external and internal relationships
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent English-language oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proven project management skills and ability to handle and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • French language fluency, CEBS or RPA designation, and completion of PPAC courses are an asset
