Collections Specialist

We are looking for a skilled Collections Specialist to join our team in Brampton, Ontario on a contract basis. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in managing accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely collections, and maintaining accurate financial records. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.

Responsibilities :

• Conduct follow-ups, send reminders, and communicate with clients to ensure timely payments.
• Analyze accounts receivable records to validate collectible items and address outstanding balances.
• Investigate payment delays and work closely with customers to resolve disputes or issues.
• Maintain accurate aging reports for accounts receivable and oversee online payment processing.
• Apply accounting principles, including debits and credits, to support general accounting tasks.
• Utilize data to identify trends, highlight discrepancies, and inform decision-making.
• Keep thorough and organized documentation of all collection activities and communications.
• Use Microsoft Excel to manage data, perform lookups, and conduct detailed analyses.
• Leverage expertise in QuickBooks to assist with financial processes and reporting.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless handling of collections and accounting support.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or accounting.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks required.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis.
• Strong knowledge of payment processing and credit management.
• Exceptional communication skills with a detail-oriented and persistent approach.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain organized records.
• Problem-solving mindset and proactive attitude toward resolving issues.
• Ability to manage both collections and general accounting tasks effectively.
