Position Overview :
Amico Design Build is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of social infrastructure building projects, including healthcare, institutional, educational, and civic facilities. The successful candidate will oversee projects from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring delivery on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
This role requires strong coordination across internal design, construction, and estimating teams, as well as external consultants, subcontractors, and public-sector stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage all phases of design-build construction projects from contract award through commissioning and handover
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and project stakeholders
- Lead project teams including site staff, consultants, and subcontractors to achieve project objectives
- Develop, monitor, and update detailed project schedules and cash flow forecasts
- Control project budgets, track costs, approve expenditures, and manage change orders
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to protect schedule and profitability
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and internal design teams to ensure constructability and scope alignment
- Participate in value engineering, cost optimization, and constructability reviews
- Ensure design development complies with contract requirements, building codes, and client standards
- Prepare and administer subcontracts, purchase orders, and consultant agreements
- Review tender packages, evaluate bids, and support subcontractor selection
- Manage contractual obligations in accordance with CCDC and public-sector procurement frameworks
- Ensure compliance with Amico’s Quality Management System and Health & Safety policies
- Oversee inspections, testing, and deficiency management
- Ensure projects meet applicable codes, accessibility standards, and regulatory requirements
- Prepare and present regular project status reports (schedule, cost, risk, and progress)
- Lead client meetings, site meetings, and coordination workshops
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records
Qualifications & Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field5+ years of project management experience in building construction, preferably social infrastructure or institutional projectsStrong experience with design-build delivery modelsFamiliarity with public-sector clients and institutional standards (healthcare, education, transit, civic)Knowledge of Ontario Building Code, construction contracts (CCDC), and procurement processesProficiency with project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Primavera, Excel)Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skillsProven ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary project teamsExcellent problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making abilitiesHigh level of organization, attention to detail, and accountabilityAbility to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentSalary Range :
$115,000 - $175,000 / per year
