Video Editor / Film Editor – Volunteer Success
We are seeking a passionate Video Editor / Film Editor to support U+ Toastmasters’ Youth Volunteer Connects Program. Your role will involve creating engaging video content that promotes our public speaking and leadership programs, helping young people connect with their community.
Summary
U+ Toastmasters’ Youth Volunteer Connects Program, funded by Canada Service Corps, empowers youth aged 12‑30 to gain experience, build skills, and give back to their community.
Responsibilities
- Review and organize raw footage, sort and select clips for editing.
- Assemble footage, add transitions, effects, and sound to create a cohesive final product.
- Collaborate with directors and producers to understand creative vision and incorporate feedback.
- Synchronize audio and video, ensuring sound quality matches visuals and adjusting timing.
- Incorporate graphics and special effects—add titles, captions, animations, and visual effects to enhance storytelling.
- Manage post‑production workflow—coordinate with sound engineers, colorists, and other professionals.
- Export videos in required formats and resolutions, ensuring final product meets technical standards.
- Stay updated with editing software and techniques, continuously learning new tools and trends.
Qualifications
Age between 12 and 30.Positive attitude and willingness to learn.Commitment to completing basic training.Fluency in English.Successful Vulnerable Sector Check (required if you are over 18).Bonus : Previous experience in video editing.Bonus : Fluency or high proficiency in another language besides English.Location & Hours
On‑site : U+ Toastmasters – 203‑1595 16th Avenue, Richmond Hill, Ontario, L4B 3N9. This is a volunteer position; hours are flexible and scheduled around your availability.
