The Saskatchewan Health Authority is seeking a team oriented psychiatrist to provide a generalized psychiatry service in Yorkton, Saskatchewan and area. The position provides opportunity to work in broad areas of psychiatry ranging from children and adolescents to a senior population. The psychiatrist will be part of the multidisciplinary team that includes nurses, social workers, and psychologists and addiction counselors. He or she will be expected to provide leadership for the team in a collegial approach and be ready to work with external bodies as required. In addition to regular clinic, the psychiatrist will provide in-patient service, emergency coverage on a rotational basis and travel to satellite clinics to provide services at least once a week. The position provides integrated mental health and addiction services including both inpatient and outpatient care.

The Yorkton Mental Health Centre has a 10-bed in-patient unit. Extensive community services made up of Child and Youth, Adult and Addiction Services, long-term rehabilitation programs; residential and apartment supportive living programs, group and transitional homes in Yorkton for rehabilitation. Staffing includes mental health therapists, nursing (in-patient and community), social workers, addiction counselors and psychologists.
