Position Summary
The Summer Program Supervisor’s plan and implement fun-filled summer programs for children in Fort Saskatchewan. The City is looking for two (2), motivated and enthusiastic Summer Program Supervisors to lead a team of 6 staff and up to 30 volunteers.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a minimum of one (1) year of experience in a related supervisory role and at least two (2) years of experience working with children in a school, camp, or recreation setting. Significant experience and related education in recreation, education, or a similar field is required. Completion of a related degree is considered an asset. Candidates must demonstrate strong interpersonal, leadership, and customer service skills, along with proven experience in staff supervision, training and development, program planning, and leadership within a child-focused camp or recreation environment. Previous experience in safety planning, emergency response, incident reporting, and safety management systems is required, along with certifications including WHMIS, High Five – Principles of Healthy Child Development, Hazard Identification and Assessment, Incident Command System (ICS) 100, Caregiver Supervision, Standard First Aid Level C with CPR and AED, and related safety training. The ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with children, parents, and coworkers, problem-solve, and adapt proactively to program changes is essential. Applicants must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and have reliable transportation for traveling between City facilities. Previous experience with program software such as Intelligenz Solutions is an asset, and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite is required. This position requires a full commitment for the entire duration of the program.
This position is within the scope of C.U.P.E. Local 30, and as such, you will be required to adhere to the articles contained within the Collective Agreement. The successful candidate will provide a Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sector Check at the time of hire.
Hours of Work : 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday
Duration : May 4, 2026, to August 21, 2026
