Location : Primarily Bolton (with occasional travel to North York Office, Ontario)

Job Overview :

We are looking for a creative and detail-focused Space Planner to join our team. This position is key in designing and implementing merchandising strategies that elevate the in-store experience. The Space Planner will collaborate closely with merchants, work hands-on with fixtures and displays, and travel to various retail locations to ensure brand consistency and quality execution. The ideal candidate is analytical, self-motivated, and has a strong grasp of store layout optimization and visual storytelling.

Primary Responsibilities :

Visual Merchandising & Design :

  • Partner with merchants to transform product information into compelling visual displays.
  • Develop and pilot merchandising designs at the Innovation Centre before rolling out.
  • Make design decisions about display elements, factoring in size, weight, and durability.
  • Utilize Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to create visual concepts and layouts for merchandising.
  • Ensure consistency in the execution of visual merchandising across various retail locations.
  • Manage the setup and dismantling of displays while evaluating their effectiveness.
  • Stay informed on retail trends and competitor strategies to innovate display designs.

Data Analysis & Store Optimization :

  • Review sales data and customer behavior to enhance store layouts and merchandising strategies.
  • Identify areas for improvement in merchandising execution and offer recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as marketing, operations, and category management.
  • Qualifications & Skills :

  • A degree or diploma in Visual Merchandising, Retail Design, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in visual merchandising, retail display design, or space planning.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for creating merchandising layouts.
  • Strong skills in Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP).
  • Ability to spot discrepancies in data and improve store layout strategies.
  • Self-starter with an eye for detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
  • A valid driver’s license and personal vehicle are required for site visits.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in home improvement, retail, or large-scale store environments.
  • Knowledge of retail marketing, branding, and sustainable merchandising practices.
  • Understanding of customer behavior and the principles of visual storytelling.
  • Work Schedule & Expectations :

  • Primarily remote (80%), with occasional on-site work (20%) in Bolton and North York offices as needed.
  • The role requires a proactive, self-managed individual who can maintain a structured work schedule.
  • Hands-on involvement with store fixtures and displays is essential to the role.
