Overview

The Jr. Engineering Technician assists with preliminary engineering field survey and construction layout; design; construction supervision; collection, compilation and analysis of field data pertaining to the County road and bridge systems; data entry; preparation of summary reports and documents; accumulation of traffic data; preparation and reproduction of plans and other documents; construction review; and related duties as assigned.

This is a Summer Student opportunity, offering Full-Time Hours, Monday to Friday (35 hours per week).

Qualifications

• University or college registration, preferably in Civil Engineering or Technology. Registration in September 2026 at a post-secondary institution is a pre-requisite.
• Proficient in the use of computers and computer software (Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, AutoCAD, etc.).
• Physically capable of performing assigned duties – lift 50 lbs., traverse rough / rocky terrain, stand for long periods, etc.
• Must have valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.
• Must provide personal CSA approved safety boots / footwear.
• Survey course would be considered an asset.

Wage Range

$23.87 - $23.87 / Hour
