Our valued crown corporation client is looking for a Senior Storage Administrator to provide day-to-day operational support for a storage (Netapp) and backup solution (Commvault)!
Initial 1-year contract in Ottawa, ON with strong possibility of extension for a total term of 3 years. This work will be completed in a hybrid environment of 8 days / month required on-site (remote candidates will also be considered, however local candidates will be prioritized).
7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours / week) with potential paid overtime required to work after-hours, including weekends.
As the successful candidate, you will work with the Network and Storage Services team to provide day-to-day, ticketing, and after-hours support for the organization’s Enterprise Backup and Restore, virtual Storage Area Network (vSAN) policies, and Network Attached Storage (NAS) environments.
You will work closely with the Windows, UNIX, VMware and network infrastructure groups to ensure the highest level of availability of storage, and data protection support.
Responsibilities
- Lead and / or participate in the provisioning and maintenance of storage capacity and infrastructure according to storage management guidelines and policies
- Support operations resources on the Enterprise Backup and Restore policies and systems.
- Provide day-to-day support and maintenance of the storage platform
- Plan and coordinate the implementation of system enhancements.
- Build and maintain Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents
- Proactively research incidents and problems and recommend solutions to enhance the capacity of the storage systems.
- Perform quality assurance activities, including problem analysis, testing and debugging.
- Develop and document the specific backup and storage management operational processes and procedures.
- Provide proactive recommendations for improving storage operations.
- Actively contribute to the configuration, layout and performance tuning of storage infrastructure.
Must-Have Skills
- 5+ years experience working within an SAN and NAS Storage environment (integration, development, testing, operations, etc.)
- 5+ years experience with IT Storage equipment including NetApp, Hitachi , and CommVault technologies
- Experience with Hyperscale
- Experience with scalable and highly available service-oriented architectures and working with Agile methodology
Nice-to-have Skills
- Experience working with ServiceNow
- Experience working with Azure Storage methodologies
- Demonstrated experience working with NetBackup
- Experience with Cisco technologies (Cisco 9K, APIC)
