Working within the Cardston Opioid Dependency Treatment team, the Mental Health Clinician is primarily responsible for providing assessment and treatment services to clients / patients experiencing a full range of mental health and / or addictions related concerns using trauma-informed care. A variety of modalities may be used, including crisis intervention as well as case management. Services may be provided to individuals, families and group settings, incorporating family-centred care as appropriate. Liaising with other internal and external stakeholders may be required to support continuity and coordination of care. Clinical consultation, along with providing education and capacity building, with team members and other service providers may also occur.This position has been identified and is anticipated to transition to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. As a Mental Health Clinician, you will work as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team collaborating on the delivery of care for the needs of individuals, families and / or communities. You will be responsible for the intake, clinical interviews, and screening of clients with addiction and mental health disorders. You will liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively with other team members as required. You may have the opportunity to participate in program planning, development and to provide supervision to practicum students. This position is open to Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Social Workers, Registered Psychologists, and Registered Occupational Therapists.
Required Qualifications :
Completion of one of the following programs : a Master¿s degree in Psychology, a Bachelor¿s degree in Social Work incorporating education in mental health assessment, brief counseling, and crisis intervention, a Master¿s or Bachelor¿s degree in Occupational Therapy with similar educational components, a Bachelor¿s degree in Nursing with training and experience in mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and brief counseling, or a Bachelor¿s degree in Psychiatric Nursing. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.
