GFL Environmental is looking for a 310T Truck & Coach Technician to join our growing solid team out of our Orangeville location. The 310T Truck & Coach Technician will be primarily responsible for preventive maintenance services; inspect diagnosis and repair vehicles and equipment. Works under limited supervision and selects from written instructions and established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks. The position is 5 days per week from Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities :
Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance servicesPerforms inspection, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipmentUtilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairsPerforms all work within Standard Repair Times (SRTs)Performs service calls for emergency breakdownsConducts safety checks on vehicles and equipmentCompletes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair timesReviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle InspectionReports Performs maintenance related work as requiredShift premium $1 per hourKnowledge, Skills & Competencies :
High school diploma or G.E.D. and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in automotive / truck, light or heavy equipment maintenance and repair or completion of accredited vocational technical school programValid driver’s licenseWorks under minimal supervision. May periodically assist in orienting and training lower apprenticesProficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repairWorking knowledge of fuel, ignition, cooling, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and air brake systemsKnowledge of safety procedures and practices necessary while operating or repairing vehicles and equipmentSkill in operating tools equipment, parts and procedures utilized during the repair and servicing of vehicles and equipmentSkill in repair of special purpose equipmentAbility to diagnose defects in and repair a variety of equipment and vehiclesAbility to perform minor and moderately complex mechanical repair on a variety of equipment and vehiclesKnowledge of hydraulic systems and ability to read hydraulic schematicAbility to read and comprehend service and technical informationAbility to utilize fleet maintenance software programKnowledge of Total Tire Maintenance programAbility to complete required paperwork to accurately document repairs, utilization of parts and associated repair timesWaste industry experience is considered an asset
