The Thunder Bay International Airport Authority is seeking a detail-focused leader to take our financial practices to the next level!

Under the supervision of the CFO, the Financial Controller will be responsible for:

• Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions
• Overseeing the finance staff and performance management practices
• Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data
• Monitoring and controlling cash flow through AP/AR
• Creating and completing financial reporting (daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual) including preparing internal and external financial statements
• Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
• Evaluating accounting and internal control systems
• Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed
• Regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
• Planning and setting of priorities as a result of multiple demands and tight deadlines
• Tracking and modifying documents showing the financial authority of TBIAAI staff

Qualifications

• CPA Certification preferred
• 3-5 years in a leadership role overseeing a team of 2 or more
• Experience in unionized environment
• Experience working in a non-profit financial setting
• Experience administering accounting and payroll systems (NAV, Business Central, ADP)
