Associate Artistic Producer
Theatre Conspiracy is a Vancouver-based theatre company and is a core member of C-Space (Progress Lab). The company develops, produces and tours original work for the stage.
Experimenting with documentary, installation, participatory, multi-lingual, mixed-media and dramatic elements, the company furthers theatrical forms to investigate and activate discussion on vital contemporary themes in politics, society and culture.
The company is lead by Co-Artistic Directors Gavan Cheema and David Mesiha. With multiple workshops and two new premieres on the horizon over the coming months, we are excited to offer an internship / mentorship opportunity for an early career artist eager to get into arts administration.
We will do so by supporting the chosen candidates in their BCAC Early Career Development grant application.
Reporting to the Co-Artistic team, this position directly assists the company in administrative and production operations over the coming season.
The Associate Artistic Producer plays an important role supporting the leadership team with contracting, scheduling, limited bookkeeping, office operations, marketing support and coordination with partners and co-producers.
This position puts you in direct communication with our contracted artists and presenting / producing partners. For all tasks, the job requires great organizational skills, fast learning and leadership potential.
The anticipated rate of pay is contingent on the candidate, with our support, successfully securing a BCAC Early Career Development grant at $30,000.
The expected work hours will average 20 hours / weeks, although there will be busier periods and slower periods over the course of the season.
This is a temporary contract position, from September 2024 July 31, 2025.
The Company is on Holiday December 18th - Jan 3rd.
This position will include a combination of in-office work at our office location in Vancouver, BC and remote work. There is a possibility of extending this position by an additional year pending additional funding.
Responsibilities :
Reporting directly to Co-Artistic team the responsibilities will include :
- Assisting in pre-production tasks such as preparing and sending out LOAs and contracts for our artists and technicians;
- Liaising with contracted artists prior to workshops and presentations to streamline communication;
- Working together with our co-presenting and co-producing partners, including PuSh Festival, to ensure production needs are met;
- Coordinating with our marketing teams to ensure smooth and effective roll out of our marketing and fundraising campaigns.
- Support in scheduling and coordinating administrative tasks related to workshops, productions and touring.
- Support in reconciling budget actuals and bookkeeping in preparation for the accountant.
- Support with updating Payroll documents in preparation for Payroll processing
- Representing the company at the monthly C-Space resident company meeting.
- Quarterly Newsletter preparation
- Monthly website update reflecting upcoming activities

Remuneration :
