Salary : $70,000-$100,00 per annum based on experience.

We are currently seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer well versed in HVAC design and Revit to join our team in Abbotsford, BC.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing mechanical systems for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings, ensuring that energy-saving, safe, and cost-effective solutions are delivered to our clients. You will be responsible for managing project activities from conception to completion and assisting senior staff with production. Additionally, you will be required to perform other duties as directed by the Manager on a project-by-project basis.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be expected to have exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, a good understanding of mechanical engineering principles, and the ability to operate computer-aided design (CAD) software. You will also be required to conduct site visits, liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders, and provide technical support to team members.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of building related mechanical systems including HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems across Canada using applicable codes, standards, and reference materials.
• Able to work independently on specified scopes with minimal supervision
• Prepare contract drawings, schematics, schedules, details, and sketches from conceptual design through to construction.
• Produce aspects of mechanical design and drawings in REVIT MEP, as well as in AutoCAD
• Coordination of mechanical systems and design with other disciplines
• Perform load calculations using company provided software
• Generate energy models and help with the preparation of energy modelling reports and compliance documentation.
• Facilitate and ensure the quality of the project deliverables.
• Adhere to Krahns design standards in preparing drawings and specifications and following the design requirements established for each project.
• Review shop drawings and other contractor submittals for compliance with construction documents.
• Perform field surveys for drawing developments, site reviews and as recorded drawings
• Coach, mentor, and provide professional leadership to team members ensuring junior staff and others are supported and motivated
• Effectively communicate with team members and other departments to ensure assignments and projects are completed on time as required by the Project Manager, Discipline Lead or Supervisor.
• Strive to accomplish company goals of high-quality workmanship and project timelines through the continual improvement of workflows and design standards
