Job description

Purpose of Position :

The Driver Recruiting Manager is responsible for distributing operational information, monitoring and ensuring quality in all driver recruitment processes, supervising recruitment team and tracking progress towards departmental objectives and goals.

Key Accountabilities :

  • Provides strategic leadership and vision to drive the department’s long-term success, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.
  • Manages staff by recruiting, training, and coaching employees, communicating job expectations, and appraising their performance.
  • Work closely with other internal departments to ensure service quality meets expectations and compliance requirements are met.
  • Contribute to recruitment and selection projects in coordination with other leaders and managers.
  • Prepare and track ongoing reporting information and regular departmental data, ensuring accuracy and timely production.
  • Provide direction and improvement on driver recruitment and selection operational processes and technology, as well as partnering with others on strategic direction.
  • Manage the departmental advertising budget, including liaising with outside agencies, vendors, and partners as required.
  • Attend Job Fairs, Trade Shows, and other recruiting events as necessary.
  • Promote adherence to recruitment policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications :

  • College Diploma
  • Five to ten years of related transportation experience
  • Degree and / or diploma in Human Resources, Social Sciences, or equivalent
  • Previous management experience leading a team is required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures pertaining to recruitment
  • Required Skills :

  • Skilled in conflict management to address and resolve workplace disputes effectively.
  • Proficient in interviewing techniques to identify and select the best candidates.
  • Experienced in negotiation, including vendor agreements and staff discussions, to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities to guide teams and foster collaboration.
  • Adept at active listening to ensure understanding and effective problem-solving.
  • Capable of delivering engaging and informative presentations.
  • Efficient in time management to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Supervision :

    This position reports to the Sr. Director of Safety and Driver Recruiting. The immediate department leader periodically checks assignments for progress. This position has authority over other members of the team and has direct reports.
