This seasonal position is anticipated to begin in mid-April 2026 and end in early October 2026.

This individual contributor role assists with the disease evaluation of experimental varieties and crop breeding materials while gaining practical experience in agronomy. As a seasonal member of our Research Development and Innovation team this position has hands on experience in the establishment maintenance and rating of disease testing plots in Western Canada.

This individual contributor role provides administrative support to management by maintaining effective day to day office operations.

What Youll Do :

• Field seed bed preparations and flagging of sites.
• Seed treatment and set-up of seeding envelopes.
• Seeding of small plot field trials and nurseries.
• Operating small plot field equipment such as tractors seeders sprayers and tillage pesticides to test plots.
• Adhere to driving laws and safety standards when moving equipment between locations.
• Assisting in plot rating activities.
• Fall land preparation including application of herbicides and fertilizer.
• Equipment calibration and maintenance.
• Assisting technicians agronomists and plant breeders with other duties as required.
• Assisting with laboratory field inoculum preparations.
• Actively follow safety procedures wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Routinely travel between six Saskatchewan trial sites with occasional overnight travel to Edmonton / Manitoba.
