Manager, FX & MM Investigations (18-Month Fixed Term Contract)

What is the opportunity?
The Manager, FX & MM Investigations will be responsible for strategic leadership, comprehensive team management, and risk oversight in the capacity of a Manager. This incumbent serves as the escalation point and strategic resource to the Foreign Exchange (FX) and Money Markets (MM) Investigations function, ensuring optimal resolution of complex investigations, proactive loss prevention, enterprise risk mitigation, and continuous process optimization. Provides strategic guidance, leadership development, and operational excellence to multiple teams and stakeholders.
What will you do?
- Apply solid knowledge and good judgement in investigation and resolution of fails and compensations in Nostro accounts related to FX and Money Market transactions.
- Manage and monitor daily case distribution, verifications, case closing queues as required.
- As subject matter expert of the FX and MM investigations team, manage complex cases and provide assistance and guidance to team members under prescribed guidelines, ensuring department goals are met by the team.
- Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders in the handling and resolution of inquiries and discrepancies and deliver high quality, timely services.
- Identify, mitigate and elevate queries that represent a potential loss to the bank. Ensure that senior leadership is kept informed of potential risks / losses.
- Identify process improvements, streamlining opportunities and reporting to management timely.
- Support policy and procedure documents creation, maintenance and updating.
- Responsible for reports generation and distribution on daily / weekly / monthly / quarterly basis.
- Demonstrates flexibility to lead project work outside of the general investigation process as required.
What you need to succeed?
2-5 years of proven experience and abilities in leading and coaching a team preferred.University degree / colleague diploma or equivalent, or combined with experience (Business, Finance, Accounting fields preferred).Highly developed and effective communication, leadership, relationship building, organizational skills.Sound decision making, problem solving, analytical skills through the process of investigations.Strong ability to exercise a high degree of judgement and negotiation.In-depth understanding of Capital Markets treasury operations, trade activities, settlement process, international payment, SWIFT formats and requirements, industry standards and best practices.In-depth knowledge of RBC applications such as Intellimatch, BESS, RIMMS, Peoplesoft, etc.Solid understanding of risk and quality control and mitigation measures, audit / SOX requirements applicable.What’s in it for you?
