Position Overview :
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Engineering, Chief Engineer to lead our Optical Sensor Development team.
This role will be responsible for overseeing the development of state-of-the-art optical sensors used for dimensional metrology.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in optical engineering, sensor technologies, embedded software, and leadership.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and manage the engineering team responsible for the development of optical sensors for dimensional metrology applications.
- Drive the design, development, testing, and production of advanced optical sensors.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, product management, System team, and manufacturing, to ensure successful project delivery.
- Define and implement engineering processes, standards, and best practices to enhance product quality and development efficiency.
- Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion.
- Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, execution speed, rapid decision making and continuous improvement.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive products to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support business development efforts by providing technical expertise and participating in customer engagements.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in optical sensor development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of successfully leading engineering teams in the development of complex optical systems, including opto-mechanics, electronics, and embedded software.
- Strong technical expertise in optical sensor technologies, dimensional metrology, or other related fields.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Experience with product lifecycle management and bringing products from concept to market.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
