Data Engineer

Location : Hybrid (2 days in-office, Montreal)

Language Requirements : English required; bilingualism (French / English) is a strong asset.

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our dynamic team in a hybrid role (2 days at the office in Montreal). This position is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in both data analysis and software engineering, who can bridge the gap between business intelligence tools like Power BI and data engineering using Python.

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining data pipelines, creating data models, and delivering actionable insights via intuitive dashboards. You will work with diverse teams to ensure data integrity and alignment with business objectives. Key Responsibilities :

• Data Engineering & ETL : Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and workflows. Work with data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.

Power BI Development : Build and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to visualize key business metrics, trends, and insights.

Data Modeling & Analysis : Design efficient data models, analyze datasets, and detect patterns to support strategic decision-making.

Python Development : Leverage Python and PySpark for automating data processes, writing complex queries, and integrating systems.

Collaboration : Work closely with IT, operations, finance, and business teams to ensure the smooth flow of data and maintain alignment with company objectives.

Decision Support : Provide insights and actionable recommendations to improve operational performance, resource utilization, and business outcomes.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or data engineering roles.

Proficiency in Power BI for creating interactive dashboards and reports.

Strong experience in SQL and data modeling .

Solid knowledge of ETL processes and relational databases .

Experience with Python and data processing tools (e.g., PySpark ).

Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Strong ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Additional Information :

This is a hybrid role based in Montreal (with 2 days in-office).

Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as you will work closely with cross-functional teams.
