Job Description:

The Model Risk Governance Specialist ensures that the organization’s models meet regulatory and internal model risk management requirements.
This role is responsible for maintaining accurate model and recommendation inventories, coordinating issue resolution with validation and implementation teams, and preparing regular model risk status reports for senior management.
The specialist also supports annual model attestation and effective challenge exercises to ensure completeness and accuracy of model inventories.

Requirement/Must Have:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
Knowledge of XX is required.

Experience:

Three or more years of experience in model risk management, preferably within the financial services industry.

Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards related to model risk management.
Prepare and present regular reports on model risk status, issues, and mitigation efforts to senior management.
Coordinate with model validators to integrate model risk management practices into development and validation processes.
Provide training and guidance to stakeholders on model risk management principles and best practices.
Maintain an up-to-date model inventory in line with model risk management decisions.
Manage the recommendations inventory and ensure timely resolution of findings.
Coordinate annual model attestation and effective challenge exercises with business stakeholders.
Maintain and update model risk policies, standards, and procedures as needed.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
Ability to engage stakeholders and deliver clear, concise reports.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Skills:

Proficiency in documentation and reporting tools.
Strong synthesis and analytical capabilities.

Qualification And Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant quantitative or financial discipline.
